“Threatened” arbitrators resign from Brazilian pulp dispute

Leading Spanish arbitrator Juan Fernández-Armesto and a co-panellist have resigned from a fraught ICC dispute over the billion-dollar sale of a Brazilian pulp producer – saying they have been threatened with criminal prosecution by the respondent and its external lawyers.

Cyprus reports victory in mass intra-EU claim over bank bailout

Cyprus says it has beaten the bulk of a US$570 million ICSID claim brought by nearly 1,000 Greek and Luxembourgish investors over bonds and bank deposits they said were confiscated as part of the state’s financial bailout by European institutions.
