Benjamin Hughes is an independent arbitrator and mediator based in Seoul, Korea. He was the founding co-chair of the International Dispute Resolution Practice Group at Shin & Kim, and has extensive experience as counsel in international arbitrations and cross-border litigations in Asia, Europe and the United States. Mr. Hughes has been appointed as sole, chair or co-arbitrator in arbitrations under the rules of the ICC, CIETAC, HKIAC, SIAC and KCAB. He also accepts appointments as a neutral mediator.Mr. Hughes is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, Chair of the International Advisory Committee of the KCAB, and Co-Chair of the Korea chapter of CIArb. He was educated at Trinity University (BA), Harvard University (MA), Seoul National University College of Law (MA Course) and NYU School of Law (JD). He is fluent in Korean and Spanish, and conversational in Mandarin.
