Dyfan Owen

Dyfan is Ashurst's Head of Dispute Resolution in the Middle East, based in the UAE.  He has considerable experience in advising clients on complex cross border disputes, in litigation and international arbitration.  He also has experience of other forms of dispute resolution, including expert determination, adjudication and mediation.Dyfan specialises in disputes arising out of the energy, resources and infrastructure sectors and has advised on a number of multi-million disputes in these sectors for clients in the Middle East and globally.  His recent work includes defending an African state against an energy company in an oil and gas-related arbitration and advising a project company in arbitration proceedings in respect of a dispute relating to the cost of extension works to an airport in the Middle East.In addition, Dyfan is a member of Ashurst's fraud and corporate crime practice and has experience of working with clients in respect of internal investigations and advising on the implications of anti-bribery and corruption legislation.  He also advises on the adequacy of anti-corruption policies and procedures and steps to address compliance breaches.
