Gitanjali Bajaj is the Asia Pacific co-head for international arbitration for DLA Piper. Gitanjali also serves as vice president of the Australian Centre for International Commercial Arbitration.
Gitanjali has over 15 years' experience in representing clients in both international and domestic arbitrations in the renewable energy, oil and gas, defence and procurement, transport and construction and infrastructure sectors, where she brings together her in-depth knowledge of the sector and a practical understanding of the procedures of such forums to achieve commercially sustainable outcomes.
Gitanjali also practises in public international law and dispute resolution between States, having acted for clients in various forums, such as the International Court of Justice and the first-ever UNCLOS Compulsory Conciliation. Gitanjali was one of the lead DLA Piper Partners representing the Government of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste in the UNCLOS Compulsory Conciliation proceeding and is currently representing a number of Pacific Island States in the Climate Change Advisory Opinions before the International Court of Justice.
