James Hargrove is a member of Orrick’s international arbitration practicegroup, based in London and Geneva, and also serves on Orrick’s managementcommittee. He represents clients in complex arbitrations relating to technology,IP and IT, banking and financial services, real estate, construction, aviation,shipping, trade and commodities, energy and telecoms in various countries andunder the major institutional arbitration rules, including the Swiss Rules, ICC,LCIA, UNCITRAL, ICSID, AAA, LME and LMAA.
James particularly specialises in arbitrations relating to energy, commodities,trading, finance and technology (he is particularly active in thought leadershipon tech and arbitration issues).
Prior to joining Orrick, James practised international arbitration and litigationat several international law firms in Geneva and London. James was, amongother things, head of the Russia and CIS dispute resolution practice and hasdeep proficiency in Russia-related disputes and investigations and associatedoffshore litigation, applications and asset identification, tracing and enforcement.
