Jeffrey Elkinson is director/partner in the litigation and insolvency department of Conyers Dill & Pearman.Jeffrey is an active arbitrator and counsel in domestic and international disputes with appointments from the LCIA, ICC and Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He specialises in commercial litigation and arbitration with a focus on banking, trusts, insurance and re-insurance, construction, administrative law, telecommunications and energy.Jeffrey is recognised as a leading dispute resolution lawyer by Chambers Global 2010, which states that ‘Jeffrey is very well regarded for his prolific work on trusts cases and the strong telecoms expertise that supports his broad commercial litigation practice.’ He is also recognised as a leading dispute resolution lawyer by PLC Which Lawyer 2010, in The International Who’s Who of Commercial Arbitration, The International Who’s Who of Business Lawyers and The International Who’s Who of Construction Lawyers 2010.Jeffrey is the deputy president of Chartered Institute, former tutor of international commercial arbitration diploma courses of Chartered Institute, tutor for fellowship courses of Chartered Institute, course director and tutor for members’ courses of Chartered Institute and panelist for HKIAC domain name disputes. He is author of the Bermuda chapter of Butterworth’s Offshore Cases and Materials and co-author of the Bermuda chapter of the ICCA Handbook and Spitz’ Tax Havens of the World.Jeffrey holds a BA moderatorship, an LLB and an MA, all in law, from the Univerity of Dublin (Trinity College), and a BL from the King’s Inns in Dublin. A practising barrister since 1978, Jeffrey is called to the Middle Temple and admitted to practise in Ireland, Hong Kong, New South Wales, New York, Bermuda and the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court. He is a member of the United States Court of International Trade, United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, Chartered Arbitrator and Mediator and a Justice of the Peace.
