Joel Richler is a partner in the litigation group at the Toronto office of Blake Cassels & Graydon LLP, where he practises arbitration and corporate and commercial litigation. His arbitration practice places an emphasis on contract disputes, shareholder rights, professional liability and construction. He has appeared at all levels of the courts in Canada and a wide range of administrative tribunals. His testimony as an expert in civil litigation has been accepted by a trial court. Joel has an extensive domestic and international arbitration practice. He has led the prosecution and defence of complex IT and IP, construction, commercial and shareholders' rights matters. Recently, Joel led an international arbitration team that was awarded, for his client, more than US$90 million as damages for copyright infringement and breach of a software licence agreement.
