Jose Alzate has over seven years of experience providing financial and economic advice to clients, often in the context of a dispute. Jose advises on the valuation of businesses, shares and intangible assets across various industries. He also provides other types of economic advice, for instance in the determination of FRAND or reasonable royalty rates, or in complex issues involving the use of economic modelling and econometrics.
Jose has prepared reports for submission to the UK High Court, among others, and in arbitrations under the rules of the ICC, ICSID, AAA, LCIA, SCC and UNCITRAL. In 2021–2022, Jose was first appointed as an expert witness and gave oral evidence before an arbitral tribunal in an ICC arbitration.
Jose is fluent in Spanish and English and has been advising clients in international disputes involving Latin America.
Jose is a financial economist with a BSc in economics from University of the Andes and an MSc in finance and economics from the London School of Economics. He is also a CFA and CAIA charterholder.
