[email protected]Jose Carrizo heads the litigation and dispute resolution department of the firm, leading a team that advises clients extensively in commercial litigation, corporate dispute resolution, investor-state arbitration, and criminal law. Mr Carrizo handles complex matters, especially in civil, criminal, administrative, retail, banking, insurance and reinsurance, insolvency law and ADR.
During more than 20 years of practice, he has acted in both domestic and international arbitration-related proceedings. He has served as an arbitrator in the National Arbitration and Mediation based in New York and has acted as an expert witness before national and international arbitral tribunals and courts.
He has participated as a speaker at conferences on arbitration matters and is the author of several books and publications.
Mr Carrizo has substantial experience in all kinds of litigation proceedings in Panamanian law before Panama’s different jurisdictional organs. He frequently represents and heads critical processes regarding corporate insolvency and restructuring, refinancing advice, debt and asset recovery worth several million dollars.
His client portfolio includes well-known private companies, banking and financial entities, government entities and multinational corporations in various local and international disputes.
