Lucas Alberto Guzmán López is senior practice group head of OMG’s conflict management department. He graduated from Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM), Santo Domingo, in 2006, obtaining a master’s degree in civil procedure law in 2008 from the same institution. He also completed a postgraduate programme in constitutionalism and Guarantees at the University of Castile-La Mancha in Toledo, Spain, in 2009.He has participated in various certificate programmes, including alternative conflict resolution, civil procedure law, real estate law, criminal litigation in the accusatory system, economic criminal law, and constitutional interpretation and analysis of jurisprudence. Mr Guzmán serves as regular professor at PUCMM and various certificate programmes teaching civil procedure, commercial arbitration, and recognition and enforcement of international arbitral awards. Additionally, he is a regular writer and speaker on such topics.He has served as part of jury commissions for the designations of newly appointed judges in the judicial branch of the Dominican Republic. He specialises in procedural, commercial, civil, arbitration and constitutional law. He is fluent in Spanish and English and has basic knowledge of French.
