Dr Mohamed Hafez, former associate director for legal affairs and business development at the Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (CRCICA) and currently Special Counsel at Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC), joined the CRCICA after becoming a partner and head of arbitration at TMS Law Firm in Cairo. Before that, he was a senior associate in the arbitration department at Zaki Hashem & Partners in Cairo. With over a decade of arbitration-focused experience, Dr Hafez has represented clients in arbitration cases before reputable arbitral institutions and has sat as arbitrator in ad hoc and institutional arbitrations. 

Dr Hafez is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) and honorary treasure at CIArb Egypt Branch. He has several publications to his name and has spoken at many conferences and webinars. Dr Hafez was among the winners of the Africa’s 50 Most Promising Young Arbitration Practitioners Award in 2020 and 2022.
