Pedro Maciel handles complex international and domestic disputes. He is the arbitration practice leader for the firm and one of the co-leaders of the Litigation practice in São Paulo. Mr Maciel focuses his practice in the areas of international and domestic arbitration and litigation. He has successfully represented clients in arbitrations before the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the American Arbitration Association’s International Center for Dispute Resolution (ICDR), the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), the Brazil Canada Chamber of Commerce (CCBC), the Federação das Indústrias do Estado de São Paulo/Camara de Mediação e Arbitragem de São Paulo (FIESP/CIESP), the Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV), ad-hoc arbitral tribunals, as well as throughout the trial and appellate process in various federal and state courts in Brazil. Mr Maciel advises foreign and Brazilian companies in the banking, construction, energy, entertainment, mining, oil and gas, and telecommunications industries, among others.Several prominent corporations rely upon Mr Maciel to manage their construction, commercial and corporate disputes and securities litigation. Mr Maciel has also handled, both as counsel and as arbitrator, numerous disputes in the commercial, construction, corporate, environmental and IT fields under the rules of the ICC, the American Arbitration Association’s ICDR, LCIA, CCBC, CIESP and FGV.Early career highlights for Mr Maciel include nearly two years’ experience as an international associate at a leading US law firm in the International Practice Group where he gained knowledge about international business transactions and information technology.
