Robert Wisner is a partner in the litigation and dispute resolution group of McMillan LLP. His practice focuses on international commercial arbitration and litigation, foreign investment protection and international trade.Robert has been recognised in Best Lawyers in Canada, Lexpert, Euromoney’s Guide to the World’s Leading Lawyers in Commercial Arbitration and Who’s Who Legal in the area of international arbitration. He has argued cases involving businesses and governments from around the world before international arbitral tribunals established under bilateral investment treaties, NAFTA and international commercial contracts. These cases have been governed by the rules of the ICC, ICSID, UNCITRAL, AAA and CIETAC, among others. Robert is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, an invited member of the Canada-US task force of the International Centre for Dispute Resolution, a founding member of the Arbitration Roundtable of Toronto and chair of the business dispute resolution committee of the Canadian Bar Association’s International Law Section. He speaks English, French and Spanish.
