No reprieve for Russian Paralympic athletes from Switzerland’s highest court
UPDATED. Pending resolution of an appeal from a decision of the Court of Arbitration for Sport, Russian Paralympic athletes have failed to persuade Switzerland’s highest court to overturn a blanket ban on them competing in the Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport has upheld a decision by the International Paralympic Committee to ban Russia’s entire Paralympic team from the games in Rio de Janeiro because of evidence of state-sponsored doping.
