Xiong Yan is a partner in the dispute resolution practice group at King & Wood Mallesons. She is a qualified Chinese lawyer and holds an MJur from the University of Oxford. Ms Xiong has advised and represented clients on litigation before the Supreme People’s Court and various lower courts, and has also been involved in arbitration on major institutional rules, including those of China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission, the Beijing Arbitration Commission, the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce, the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce Arbitration Institute, the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre, the Singapore International Arbitration Centre, as well as ad hoc arbitration under the arbitration rules of the London Maritime Arbitrators Association. The breadth of her casework spans diverse areas, including commercial contracts, international trade, letters of credit and independent guarantee, technology licensing and technical secrets, PPP projects, construction projects, shipping and maritime, offshore construction, joint venture, corporate equity, and recognition and enforcement of foreign arbitration awards in China.
